Accidents Happen Not just falling Pickle’s Burn

chemical burn

I can’t rotate. I’m still in the middle of all my data transfer and so everything is slow. At the same time, poor Pickle got a chemical burn. It is huge. about 1ft x 3ft. His skin cracked and began to ooze. He has been treated now; this is a few days ago after antibiotics and alot of cold hosing. I felt so horrible when I found it. He had rubbed up against a tree branch by a wall that had sticky fly paper.
It wasn’t the glue but the combo of “pure” glycerine saddle soap and vaseline that was used to melt the glue, but…….the glycerine and vaseline didn’t get washed off’  it was left on his coat and it  mixed with the glue. It made the glue more liquid and what ever was in it mixed with glycerin soap and vaseline caused this burn. I have to take responsibility for not making sure it was rinsed. Cutting corners and not making sure his rider followed through. My fault. My Poor pickle boy.

Accidents happen, we don’t intend them, we don’t plan them. That is why  I wear my hit-air vest. Accidents…… we always feel horrible afterward and wish we could prevent them. Afterward is too late. Poor Pickle
